Caledon's Population Allocations
1. Population & Employment Forecasts
Caledon’s Official Plan was approved by the
Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) on August 1, 1997. The Official Plan has
established population and employment forecasts for the Town of Caledon through
2021 as shown in Table 1.

2. Population Allocations by Settlement
Category or Land Use Area
Population Allocations for 2011 and 2021
have been assigned in Tables 2 to 6 to settlement categories, specific
settlements and land use areas as approved by the OMB.
The 2021 Population Allocations for the
Rural Service Centres and Villages in Table 2 represent interim budget
population allocations only, pending the completion of the Mayfield West
Community Development Plan, and the Village Study, and the determination of the
2021 population allocations for these communities.

3. Population Allocations – Rural Service
Centres
The Bolton 2021 population allocation has
been assigned. The population allocation figure for Mayfield West shown in
Table 3, was based on an aggregated interim budget allocation to Mayfield West
and Caledon East pending completion of the Mayfield West Community Development
Plan and the Caledon East Secondary Plan. Following completion of the Caledon
East Secondary Plan, the 2021 population allocation for Caledon East has been
assigned. Mayfield West has been allocated the residual interim population
allocation. The completion of the Mayfield West Community Development Plan will
determine the actual population allocation for Mayfield West.
The 2016 population allocation for Caledon
East is 6,400 as projected in the Caledon East Secondary Plan. The 2011
population allocation for Caledon East represents an interpolation based on the
2016 population.
Until the Mayfield West Community
Development Plan is completed and the appropriate official plan amendment is
approved, the historically established population for Mayfield West shown in
Table 3 will be used to regulate the population to be accommodated in the
community.

4. Population Allocations – Villages
The total Villages population allocation
shown in Table 4 represent interim budget population allocations pending
completion of the Village Study. The completion of this study will determine
the actual population allocation for each of the Villages. Until this study is
completed and the appropriate official plan amendment(s) approved, the
historically established population for each Village will be used to regulate
the population to be accommodated in these communities.
A Village Study has been completed for
Inglewood Village. Therefore, the Inglewood Village 2021 population allocation
has been assigned.
