Responsibilities

The Planning and Development Department manages a diverse set of responsibilities including:
● Land use planning policy and development approvals
● Transportation planning
● Heritage Resource Office
● Environmental Progress Office

Services

The Planning and Development Department provides a wide range of general services to the public including:
● Zoning and variance information
● Population statistics and projections
● Community plans/profiles
● Compliance Request Information
● Transportation planning information
● Subdivision and land division information
● Heritage information and resources
● Caledon’s environmental initiatives

Sections

Policy Section – sets Official Plan policy for the Town, including Transportation Planning
Development Section – manages planning development in the Town of Caledon, and the Zoning By-law, 2006-50
Office of Environmental Progress – promotes & develops environmental initiatives
Heritage Resource Office – promotes and develops heritage initiatives, and is a liaison with “Heritage Caledon”
