Heritage Caledon

The Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990 (amended 2005) provides that Council may appoint a Municipal Heritage Committee (MHC) to advise and assist Council on all matters relating to designation under Parts IV and V of the Ontario Heritage Act. Heritage Caledon also advises Council on other heritage matters as Council may specify.The committee is composed of a maximum of 25 members, including a minimum of two Members of Council.  Representation from local historical societies and all geographic areas of the Town is encouraged.  Members are appointed for three year terms and are selected based on their demonstrated interest, knowledge and expertise in heritage matters.  Heritage Caledon normally meets on the second Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at various locations throughout the Town and/or at Town Hall.  All meetings are open to the public and generally last from two to three hours.
