My wife, Diana and I moved to Bolton
because of the small town country feeling. I currently work for Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls known in
the facility management industry as BLJC for their projects and accommodation
team. In June of 2000, I received my
Certified Reserve Planner (CRP) professional designation, as a CRP I have the
skills to develop reserve fund plans for any asset that a corporation may
have in its portfolio. In September of 2003 I was recruited by Humber
College's School of Applied Technology to teach in their Facility Planning
Post Diploma program. Prior to working for the Region of Peel, I operated my
own consulting company specializing in building audits and documenting
as-built projects. My clientele included Nortel Networks, Brookfield LePage
Johnson Controls, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Ministry of
Agricultural Foods and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and the Unionville Home Society.
This past summer I worked as volunteer for the Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club.
Over the years I have been involved in a variety of community activities.
I've coached minor peewee hockey, volunteered as a goaltending instructor at Teen
Ranch, and served as a church youth leader.
At the Region of Peel, I volunteered my
time as a corporate United Way representative for the Housing and Property
Department. This allowed me the opportunity to organize fundraising events,
collect prizes, and participate in the "Days of Caring."
My wife and I have greatly enjoyed
getting involved in the wide variety of community events offered here in
Bolton. My wife and I have participated in the Santa Claus parade, the annual
Brampton Caledon Community Living fundraiser, Bolton Walk for MS and the Terry
Fox Run. We have also enjoyed attending Canada Day Festivities, Midnight
Madness, and the Fall Fair.
I highly value the importance of youth
sports initiatives, largely due to my personal history with hockey, soccer
and baseball. I was involved in competitive hockey for 18 years, winning a
Provincial title in 1987. I played for the Newmarket 87's of the Provincial
Ontario Jr. League, graduating to the University of New Brunswick. During my
time in Newmarket I was selected as a starter in the 1997 All-Star game. I
have had the pleasure of playing with Mike Peca, Anson Carter, Kevin Weekes,
Jason Allison, John Madden, Steve Halko and Roman Halko.
