Employment Lands Needs Study

The Employment Land Needs Study (pdf) was undertaken to ensure that an adequate supply of employment land is available to provide opportunities for economic development, provide jobs and meet provincial policy requirements to provide employment lands to meet long term needs.

The Employment Land Needs Study was initiated as part of the South Albion-Bolton Community Plan, but it assesses the need for employment land in Mayfield West, Tullamore and the remaining rural area as well as in Bolton.

The Employment Land Needs Study included an assessment of the market demand for employment land and the adequacy of the current supply to determine how much new employment land will be needed in the 2021 and 2031 planning time frames.

The Study was completed in 2007 and finalized as of February, 2010.  The final version incorporated revisions as discussed at the Council Workshop of November 11, 2008 (pdf).

The Employment Land Needs Study was used as the basis for the Bolton Employment Land Expansion ROPA application of September, 2010 and for the employment land component of the Mayfield West Phase 2 Secondary Plan.
