Fire Truck

Training

The Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services basic training for all members has it's foundation in the Ontario Fire College Curriculum.

Expectation of training for all new recruits is approximately 200 hours including:

  • Ontario Fire College Curriculum Module A plus foundation subjects.
  • Simulated and Live Fire training exercises.
  • Emergency Medical Responder program for Volunteer Fire Fighters.
  • Canadian Heart and Stroke Health Care Provider (2) CPR and Defibrillation.
  • Town of Caledon initial employee training including Health and Safety, Accessibility, Bill 168 and Customer Service.

An ongoing Probationary Fire Fighter program sets realistic expectations for completion of both in station and headquarters based training working towards Fire Fighter Certification in the Province of Ontario.
